I believe I read somewhere that oils actually become rancid before they reach the smoke point, so the smoke point is actually not a safe way to know how hot you can get an oil before it becomes harmful. Why now: The marijuana industry, including the manufacturing of CBD, is currently unregulated by the FDA, and many critics say that lack of standards to properly vet new cannabidiol products has created a “wild West” culture. I know choosing the right product is a bit tricky as you have hemp oil or CBD oil (containing real CBD) and you have Hempseed oil which might still be very rich in goodness but contain about zero CBD. It means it has a very different effect. I learned the hard way when I received the bottle. It says you have more than 200 mg hempseed oil per serving... while product with CBD would tell you the actual dose per serving which is around 16-20mg... so I am not arguing about the quality of the product just saying I was buying CBD to calm joint pains and I end up with a product rich in Omega’s but with zero CBD. You mentioned in your other post about “bad” oils that omega 3:6 ratio was important but the oils here don’t have that info. I personally do not feel comfortable using coconut oil because I get chest pains everytime I consume more than a teaspoon. I can eat coconut, drink the water with no problems but I think the saturated fat is way too concentrated. I just have to listen to my body.
I wanted to tell people here that CBD has been very effective for my anxiety, and helps with insomnia. For me, it was a cumulative effect, after a week of one dropper of oil, I can sleep very well at night. I feel like I am not polluting my body with commercial pharmaceuticals. I am 70 years old and have arthritic pain and stiffness in my hands. I work part-time for a delivery company and spend 4-5 hour shifts removing small and large packages from a belt think of Lucy and Ethel at the chocolate factory.
